its not about the money we make.
its about the passions that we ache for.
what makes your heart beat faster.

black paws tore feverishly at the ground around the tree, uprooting earth with each swift flick of his paw. under the shade of the towering hollow tree, he wasn't finding much shelter from the heat, or any other obstacle he encountered in this life. the branches forked and spiked high above her head, and below roots took to the ground. it cast shade down over his body, creating shadows and darkness to conceal that dark pelt from attracting the light of the greenleaf day. tiny paws worked quickly in anger and the young digger let out an exasperated sigh as he realized all she wasn't moving much of the soft, cold ground at all with paws as tiny as his. boredly, he ran a claw along one of the tree's roots, wondering at the roots that spread underneath her, like the tree had veins too, veins that brought it blood and life. he dug her claws in. nothing happened. the tree was strong, not weak. and it was big, not small. it had stood here many, many moons. he had barely lived for six.
the tom rolled onto his back restlessly and studied the canopy above. he closed his eyes but opened them again, the energy inside him was too much, and yet she had nothing to do. the sounds of the birds chirping made him want to run. the sound of the river nearby tempted him to leap across. the sounds of the trees whispering secrets made him curious at what remained above his reach. he laid there for a moment more, wishing he had a mentor. then he could be learning fighting skills and exploring the territory and hunting. the fresh apprentice had no clue about thunderclan yet, seeing as he had no mentor. he wanted to learn and grow and help his clan so badly! he felt like ants were crawling in his pelt. he was tiny, and weak bodied, but surely he could learn something useful if only he had the chance to learn!
