Tabby fur ruffled against the chill leafbare wind as paws that seems a little large padded through the camp and through the thorn barrier. The forest was reasonably awake with prey that hadn't fled from the dropping temperatures.
Sunswamp turned just outside the camp entrance to wait for his new apprentice, his mind scanning through everything his mentor had taught him. Those days weren't too long ago, yet they seemed fuzzy and old. He was a warrior now and hunting just came naturally to him, without any techniques or lectures to accompany his movements.

Owlpaw followed her mentor, her pelt fluffed up against the chill as well. Her paws tingled with anticipation as she headed outside the camp entrance. This would be her first time outside of the camp without her mother or her siblings. Though she did have a mentor, the feelings were different. She would actually be benefitting her clan now. A soft purr rose in her throat as she padded softly behind her mentor. She stopped beside the larger tabby warrior and looked up at him warmly. She hoped that he would teach her as much as he knew so that she could one day become and excellent warrior.
“So Sunswamp, what are we going to be practicing today?” she asked eagerly. Owlpaw looked up into the tree tops. Had it been Greenleaf they would be full of leaves and birds. Her eyes lowered as she scanned the area for anything moving beneath the bushes but she saw none. Prey was probably hiding in their nice warm dens. She glanced at her mentor again, a soft smile reaching her eyes. She hoped that they would be practicing hunting today. Or maybe even fighting techniques.

"I'm going to teach you some hunting techniques", the tom meowed with a small smile. He flicked his tail to Owlpaw, before padding away deeper into the forest - away from camp. Not far along they came to a small forest clearing. Sunswamp raised his nose to the wind once again, then looked at his apprentice. "What can you smell?"
