A smooth flat stone is located by the Leader's Den, the huge leaning oak tree's lower branches almost touching the top of the stone. The apprentices sleep on and around this stone in moss nests, often quarreling over who sleeps where. Their quarrels never get too far though, being located next to the leaders den ...

Rustlepaw was curled up in his bedding. He dreamed of fighting other cats. He sent them running with their tail between their legs. Another cat leaped on him. He woke with a start and realized he was in the apprentices den. He sat up and groomed his fur. Moss stuck to his fur where he had rolled over.

Deadrose trotted in to the apprentices den and saw her apprentice, Rustlepaw. Rustlepaw! She called. Come on, its time for training.

Rustlpaw looked up at his mentor. He nodded respectfully, then sat up and stretched. He padded out after his mentor.

Faithpaw limped into the den. She had been training and hurt her paw. She visited Snakecharm and he told her to stay off of it for the rest of the day. She sighed and layed in her nest. Her golden eyes looking around for someone to talk to.

Phoenixpaw bounced into the den, hazel eyes shining. "Hi." She greeted Faithpaw. "Are you okay?" The chocolaty she-cat asked. There was no room is her heart to be rude or uncaring, well, not a lot anyways.

Phoenixpaw laughed softly. "Sure, hunting sounds fun." She stood from her sitting position and shook off little bits of moss and dust, still grinning. Why grin when she was haunted by horrific dreams every night? Why grin at all? Ever. Because she was a happy cat and happy cats did not let death drag them down.

An apprentice of quite impressive size padded into the den and lazily ploped down in his nest. He looked around the den, his amber eyes seeming to examine every one of the apprenices - which ones he may be competiters with, which females were cute ... Which ones looked weak.
When he seemed to have finished his scan, he smiled and called out to his friend loudly. "Hey Faithpaw! How was you training?"

"Ok! Well, lets go!" It looked like she was jumping up and down with exitment but she was realy thinking to herself, Why is Pheonixpaw always grinning. She's such a happy cat! "We better go before all the prey hides!"

Phoenixpaw smiled and nodded, eyes a glow. "Where do you think the best place to hunt is?" She bit her lip, mentally scanning the forest. That place was too close to the other clans' territory, that place was too barren.

Robinpaw straightend up. "I didnt realy think about it. I just want to get out of camp and streach my legs!" She arched her back and let out a yawn. "How about the Field of Flowers. The sun will preobobly be shinning on it around now. And, there are rabbits!" She was now jumping up and down at the thought of catching rabbits and her eyes were huge, "So, what do you think?"
